Event Date: Tuesday, May 11th, 2010 at 12:00am

Join us to demand a world without poverty at
CARE's 2010 National Conference and Celebration
May 11-12 in Washington D.C.

As a member of World Wings, your voice is key to CARE's efforts to effect real and lasting change in the lives of people around the world. We would like to invite you to join us at the CARE National Conference & Celebration on May 11 and 12 in Washington, D.C. for two days of political action, learning and inspiration. You will:

  • hear from top speakers and engage in interactive workshops about CARE's poverty fighting work.
  • meet Goretti Nyabenda of Burundi, a village savings and loan association member whose inspiring story is featured in the best-selling book "Half the Sky".
  • visit our Marketplace and Action Center where you will learn about CARE's Signature Programs and have a chance to purchase items made by female artisans all over the world.
  • receive hands-on training for promoting the issues that you care about on Capitol Hill, and then meet in person with your own U.S. Senators and Representatives to educate them about why fighting global poverty is important to you!

The first ten World Wings members who register for the conference will be invited to a special diplomatic reception at the Peruvian embassy on the evening of May 12th. The reception is for our VIP guests and longterm partners.  Simply register for the conference at www.careconference.org and then send an email to groups@care.org letting CARE know that you are a World Wings member who would like to attend the reception. We hope to see you there!
